This makes for a broad scope of work, and it certainly highlights how the role of a plumber has evolved from Roman times (when they worked specifically on lead pipework and fittings).
Conversely, heating engineers work solely on the heating and cooling systems included in a property, creating a niche job role that requires a relatively small set of focused skills.
So, whilst you can call on a qualified plumber to repair boiler or heating system issues, you should never hire a heating engineer to repair a leaking pipe.
